Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of projects from initial discovery and solution development to system design, implementation, and deployment in production.

• Create and develop data foundations, which encompass data models, schema design, dimensional modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and management of slowly changing dimensions.

• Develop comprehensive full-stack applications using Python/FastAPI services alongside Next.js frontends.

• Leverage AI coding agents like Claude Code or similar tools as a key accelerator in the development process.

• Design and implement AI functionalities, including RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and LLM-in-the-loop processing.

• Integrate AI capabilities through MCP servers, Skills, and Plugins.

• Manage orchestration of pipelines and automation with tools such as Airflow, Dagster/Prefect, Celery, or Temporal.

• Oversee CI/CD and cloud deployments on both AWS and Azure platforms.

• Convert vague client requirements into precise designs and effectively communicate trade-offs to both technical and business stakeholders.

• Contribute to the Data Practice by providing reusable accelerators and technical assets.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in production environments spanning data engineering and full-stack development.

• Proficiency in data modeling and schema design, covering dimensional modeling, normalization trade-offs, and EDW/warehouse schema design.

• Practical experience in production ETL/ELT processes involving both batch and incremental loads.

• Familiarity with slowly changing dimensions and patterns for handling change-data.

• Expertise in dbt, encompassing modular SQL transformations, tests, documentation, and incremental strategies.

• Advanced SQL skills and substantial experience with at least one modern data platform, such as Snowflake or Databricks.

• Adherence to data quality practices, including testing, validation, and data lineage tracking.

• Minimum of 5 years experience using Python as a primary programming language.

• Experience with FastAPI, particularly in async REST API design, dependency injection, and testing methodologies.

• Background in modern frontend development, preferably with Next.js, including component architecture, SSR, state management, and user experience (UX) design.

• Proficient in PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, and indexing techniques.

• Skills in system design with the ability to architect services, delineate boundaries, assess trade-offs, and scale solutions from scratch.

• Regular use of agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent technologies.

• Capability to independently manage CI/CD and cloud deployments on AWS or Azure with minimal assistance.

• Comfortable engaging in client-facing delivery, effectively bridging communication between business and engineering teams.

• A customer-centric approach.

• End-to-end project ownership from discovery to production.

• Desirable qualifications include familiarity with Salesforce/NetSuite commercial data, expertise in LangGraph or similar agentic AI technologies, RAG engineering, consulting or forward-deployed engineering experience, workflow orchestration, streaming data, vector databases, experiment tracking, open-source contributions, and exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
