This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create solutions and provide recommendations aligned with business strategies and stakeholder needs.
• Guide business partners on the implementation of solutions and enhancements to processes.
• Serve as a reliable advisor for designated business groups and stakeholders.
• Assist in strategic planning while identifying emerging issues, risks, and trends.
• Oversee full-cycle fund accounting activities for various investment fund entities.
• Prepare and evaluate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Ensure that financial reporting is accurate, complete, and delivered in a timely manner.
• Manage annual tax reporting and ensure regulatory compliance for the assigned funds.
• Coordinate annual audits and engage with external auditors as well as internal stakeholders.
• Establish, maintain, and oversee accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support strategic initiatives and conduct independent analyses of strategic issues.
• Act as the primary liaison for client and stakeholder relationships.
• Manage stakeholder expectations regarding deliverables, timelines, and service commitments.
• Analyze complex financial and operational data to derive insights and recommendations.
• Design and produce both recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, and management information.
• Provide financial and tax analysis to senior management.
• Support fund performance reporting and aid in management decision-making processes.
• Assist with operational programs, business initiatives, client onboarding, fund launches, and special projects.
• Aid in system testing and validation for process, operational, and technological changes.
• Promote continuous improvement in financial reporting and taxation processes.
• In-depth knowledge of fund accounting, financial statement preparation, investment fund reporting, and taxation.
• Thorough understanding of accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and financial controls.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and decision-making capabilities.
• Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
• Excellent skills in stakeholder management, communication, influencing, and relationship building.
• Experience collaborating with external auditors, regulators, service providers, and cross-functional business partners.
• Advanced skills in reporting, data analysis, and dashboard development.
• Keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy, quality, and risk management.
• Technical expertise in fund accounting and reporting.
