This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the general ledger and chart of accounts, ensuring precision and uniformity.
• Conduct monthly account reconciliations and address any discrepancies.
• Manage month-end accounting closure activities, which encompass journal entries and general ledger closing procedures.
• Prepare and evaluate variance analyses that compare actual outcomes to budgets and forecasts.
• Compile quarterly and annual financial statements for internal reporting and tax purposes, and assist in the creation of quarterly materials for the board of directors' Finance meetings.
• Formulate and update accounting policies, procedures, and technical accounting documentation.
• Ensure adherence to IFRS standards and internal control measures.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales & Engineering teams to develop scalable financial processes for revenue operations, accounting automation, and cost management.
• Manage Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
• Engage directly with external auditors, tax accountants, and legal advisors as necessary.
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of accounting processes, systems, and documentation.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA certification.
• 3-5 years of experience in a controllership, senior accounting, or comparable position.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting obligations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of full-cycle accounting and financial closing procedures.
• Exceptional attention to detail with robust organizational and time-management abilities.
• Capability to work autonomously and take responsibility for deliverables.
• **Preferred Qualifications**
• Expertise in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
• Knowledge of SaaS business accounting (e.g., revenue recognition, deferred revenue, intangible assets).
• Experience within a large, established organization with familiarity in solid accounting and internal control frameworks, revenue operations, and/or public accounting external audit experience.
• Proficiency in utilizing AI tools to boost productivity and streamline manual processes (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT).
