This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Oversee the complete business P&L and manage all accounting processes, which include customer invoicing and collections, bi-weekly forecasting, financial reporting and analysis, as well as ensuring corporate accounting compliance.
• Collaborate with the Corporate accounting and finance integration team to establish a cohesive team, develop processes, and align the new business with our standard best practices and systems.
• Evaluate monthly results to offer insights into forecast variances, key performance indicators/ratios, and financial performance trends.
• Assess monthly outcomes to provide insights into forecast variances, key performance indicators/ratios, accounts receivable risk, customer billing, and trends in financial statements.
• Deliver clear and actionable insights to the management team, ensuring that updates are communicated promptly.
• Take responsibility for the forecasting cycle and proactively adjust forecasts based on changes in the business environment.
• Work closely with Senior Leadership and key functional group leaders within the business unit to aid in the development of strategic plans.
• Implement a structured accounts receivable management process to minimize collection risks.
• Management team expectations will involve weekly calls, timely escalation of problematic accounts, and monthly assessments of collection trends on revenue.
• Assist the General Manager and management team in preparing materials for quarterly strategic reviews and actively engage in the review process.
• Participate in management calls, providing strategic financial advice and insights on significant financial trends.
• Engage with business units within the same portfolio to learn and share best practices, identify synergy opportunities, and streamline processes.
• Lead and nurture a team of offshore resources.
• Conduct regular meetings to provide coaching, feedback, and set goals.
• With a sense of curiosity, proactively seek out new areas for investigation or opportunities for enhancement.
• Undertake ad hoc projects as requested or desired by senior management.
• At least 5 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in people management and team leadership.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is preferred; a CPA designation is strongly favored but not mandatory.
• A solid understanding of accounting guidelines, particularly IFRS-15 revenue recognition; knowledge of acquisition accounting is advantageous.
• Capability to manage and prioritize competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in managing credit agreements and reporting on debt covenants.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience supervising or managing offshore teams.
• Financial expertise in the software sector, specifically concerning financial operations and accounting guidelines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; experience with Great Plains or similar software is a plus.
