This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Execute all annual nondiscrimination testing for plans independently, including those with intricate designs.
• Prepare and review Form 5500 submissions for larger and more complex plans.
• Draft amendments for the addition or removal of safe harbors, changes in eligibility, and allocation adjustments, as well as create the initial adoption agreement for new plans.
• Act as the main compliance contact for assigned relationship managers.
• Train and guide Compliance Analysts on testing methodologies, filing processes, and firm workflows; may conduct an initial quality review of Compliance Analyst deliverables before they are submitted to senior reviewers.
• Identify potential compliance challenges in assigned plans (e.g., operational failures, unfiled amendments, late contributions) and suggest corrective measures.
• Gather, validate, and reconcile census data and payroll records, independently resolving data discrepancies and escalating systemic issues to the Director.
• Engage in the development and enhancement of internal procedures, checklists, and training materials to boost consistency and efficiency.
• Cultivate and maintain proficiency with all necessary software for job functions, especially Ft William and Relius applications.
• Achieve production standards set forth, with a growing focus on quality metrics, mentorship contributions, and effective client communication, in addition to volume.
• A bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, human resources, or a related field is preferred.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in retirement plan compliance testing, Form 5500 preparation, or plan document administration within a TPA, recordkeeper, benefits consulting firm, or law firm.
• Familiarity with at least one major retirement plan administration software platform (e.g., Relius, Ft William, ASC, Datair).
• ASPPA RPF designation is either achieved or in progress; QKA or other ASPPA/NIPA credentials are preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is required.
