Senior Environmental Scientist / Senior Industrial Hygienist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Execute field investigations encompassing asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and indoor air quality assessments, in addition to comprehensive industrial hygiene evaluations.

• Gather bulk samples, air samples, wipe samples, water samples, and other environmental media in accordance with both regulatory and project-specific protocols.

• Conduct building surveys, moisture mapping, and visual inspections to detect environmental hazards or deficiencies related to buildings.

• Aid in monitoring abatement/remediation projects, oversee contractors, and perform clearance testing.

• Generate clear, precise, and technically sound reports, data summaries, and field documentation.

• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and coordination of field activities.

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of applicable federal, state, and local regulations (such as EPA, OSHA, and local building codes).

• Respond to both planned and unexpected events.

• Engage professionally with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

• Rigorously adhere to internal safety protocols and advocate for a safe working environment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

• At least 2 years of pertinent field experience in environmental or industrial hygiene consulting.

• Hands-on experience in conducting and documenting: Asbestos surveys (following AHERA, NESHAP, and OSHA regulations), Lead-based paint assessments (per EPA/HUD guidelines), Mold and moisture investigations, Indoor air quality (IAQ) assessments.

• Proficiency in utilizing field sampling equipment, building diagnostics tools, and methods for data recording.

• Excellent technical writing and communication capabilities.

• Ability to operate independently in the field and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Valid driver’s license and readiness to travel to project locations.
