Senior Engineer/Scientist – Epidemiologist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as a subject matter expert regarding occupational exposures to radiation, chemicals, and fumes to enhance study design and data interpretation for military aviation and firefighter/first responder data sets.

• Supervise and assist in the development and implementation of statistical analysis plans for various research studies.

• Conduct expert reviews or contribute to the classification of job groupings into similar exposure groups.

• Collaborate with team industrial hygienists and health physicists to evaluate job titles and tasks, providing expert ratings and rankings of occupational exposures to radiation, chemicals, and fumes.

• Participate in a thorough literature review of potential aviation-related hazards relevant to both military and commercial aviation, supporting crew activities.

• Aid in the literature review of potential aviation-related hazards, leading to a detailed assessment of available evidence and a prioritized list of potential carcinogens of interest.

• Assist in the creation of job exposure matrices that incorporate uncertainty derived from expert evaluations.

• Develop multiple job exposure matrices.

• Create a job exposure matrix that quantifies exposure to ionizing radiation linked to high-altitude flight.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD.

• Experience in cancer epidemiology.

• Required Technical/Business Tools Experience: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), communication tools (Teams, SharePoint).
