Senior Engineering Manager

📋 Description

• Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of over 10 software engineers and engineering managers across various agile squads, promoting a culture of ongoing learning, inclusivity, and high performance.

• Direct the technical strategy for FuzeRx’s core B2B and consumer-facing platforms, ensuring the delivery of highly available and secure solutions utilizing our main tech stack (Ruby on Rails, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, PostgreSQL, AWS).

• Oversee the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC) for your area, guaranteeing reliable delivery of features that facilitate API-driven prescription fulfillment and pharmacy logistics.

• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Pharmacy Operations, Design, and QA to convert complex healthcare compliance and patient-care requirements into technical roadmaps and actionable sprints.

• Advocate for engineering best practices that comply with stringent industry regulations (e.g., HIPAA, SOC2), ensuring that patient data security, secure messaging, and privacy are integral to our codebase.

• Define and monitor essential engineering metrics (e.g., DORA metrics, system uptime, bug resolution rates) to promote ongoing enhancements in engineering efficiency and pharmacy system reliability.

• Act as a senior escalation point for critical system outages or security incidents, leading root-cause investigations and implementing preventive strategies.

• Manage departmental budgets, vendor partnerships, and cloud infrastructure expenditures efficiently to support sustainable growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• 8+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, architecture, and the design of distributed systems.

• 3+ years of direct people management experience, including overseeing managers or leading multiple concurrent engineering teams.

• Prior experience in developing scalable B2B SaaS or consumer-facing web applications, with a strong grasp of complex logistical or transactional systems.

• Standard business hours; availability for on-call escalations as required.

• In-depth architectural knowledge and proven experience in deploying systems using AWS, PostgreSQL, Ruby on Rails, Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript. Familiarity with collaboration and procurement tools (e.g., Slack, GSuite, Coupa, Jira).

• Established ability to build high-trust relationships, manage conflicts, and convey complex technical ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders (e.g., clinical and operational leaders).

• Proven expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD pipeline optimization, and relational database architecture.
