Senior Engineer, Technical Infrastructure – Utility/Pipeline Planning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership and technical oversight for utility and line planning projects (including water, wastewater, district heating, gas, and power/cable corridors) from initial design to construction design.

• Develop and assess technical concepts, perform hydraulic calculations, and create longitudinal and cross profiles, along with junction and node solutions.

• Collaborate with internal teams (traffic planning, sewer network modeling, construction supervision, geotechnics) and external stakeholders (clients, utility companies, authorities).

• Prepare specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and tender documentation.

• Manage risks, maintain quality control, and ensure adherence to standards, guidelines, and technical regulations.

• Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering professional growth and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Assist in procurement processes, contract negotiations, and oversee construction until handover and acceptance.

• Represent the department during client meetings and presentations.


⛳️ Requirements

• A university degree (Dipl.-Ing., Master, or Bachelor with relevant professional experience) in Civil Engineering, Utility/Service Engineering, Infrastructure Planning, or a related field.

• A minimum of 6–8 years of relevant professional experience in utility and line planning or technical infrastructure, with experience in project leadership.

• Proficient in using planning and CAD/GIS tools (such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, ArcGIS) and calculation software (like DWA tools, HEC-RAS, hydraulic calculation tools).

• Strong understanding of applicable standards and regulations (DIN, DWA, ATV, and local regulations).

• Experience in tendering processes, preparing bills of quantities (Leistungsverzeichnisse), and cost estimation.

• Proficient in MS Office; experience with project management tools is a plus.

• A strong sense of responsibility and a structured, solution-oriented approach to work.

• Confident and professional communication skills when interacting with clients and authorities.

• Fluency in German (both spoken and written); good English skills are preferred.

• Willingness to travel for site inspections and client meetings.
