Senior Engineer – Stability Analysis

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Conduct thermal-hydraulic stability analyses, noise assessments for the plant, PRNM stability interface evaluations, and other safety-related analyses.

• Oversee fuel project initiatives including reload analyses, implementation of stability methods, introduction of new fuel designs, and providing safety analysis support for urgent fuel-related concerns.

• Collaborate with interfacing teams that focus on mechanical design, core design, licensing, systems design, or other related organizations.

• Communicate effectively and coordinate activities with both internal and external project managers, technical staff, and clients.

• Prepare, document, and present technical information to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Offer technical mentoring to enhance the development of the Stability Analysis team.

• Create and deliver training courses in response to external commercial requests as well as for internal audiences.

• Contribute to enhancements in team processes.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar).

• At least 5 years of experience in plant thermal-hydraulic stability safety analysis and associated methods.

• Proficient in BWR plant thermal-hydraulic stability analyses, plant noise assessments, and PRNM stability interface work.

• Possession of a Ph.D. and/or M.S. Degree in Nuclear Engineering with a focus on thermal-hydraulic modeling relevant to nuclear reactor systems.

• Familiarity with BWR technology and stability analysis.

• Knowledge of operational support for stability within the plant.

• Understanding of reactor licensing requirements.

• Experience using BWR simulators and 3-D neutron kinetics tools (e.g., PANAC).

• Proficiency in BWR/PWR thermal-hydraulic systems codes such as TRACG, RELAP, and TRACE.

• Programming skills in languages such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON.
