Senior Engineer, Modern Platforms, Cloud Infrastructure

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and execution of secure, scalable cloud infrastructures across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Create, manage, and enhance Terraform modules and pipelines for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and policy enforcement.

• Automate deployment processes and operational workflows utilizing Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps Pipelines.

• Conduct discovery and assessment processes using tools such as Flexera, Device42, Cloudamize, and native cloud utilities.

• Spearhead the execution of migrations for IaaS, PaaS, and containerized workloads, ensuring optimal performance, security, and operational readiness.

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to design and document Cloud Design Documents (CDDs), runbooks, and implementation strategies.

• Implement and uphold cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, logging, monitoring, and compliance with CIS and NIST standards.

• Diagnose infrastructure issues and enhance environments for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

• Coach junior engineers and contribute to Presidio’s collection of reusable assets, templates, and automation frameworks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or military service.

• 8–10+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering, with at least 5 years focused on cloud infrastructure design and automation.

• Strong proficiency in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including modules, workspaces, state management, and CI/CD integration.

• Practical experience with cloud networking, identity, computing, storage, and security services in AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Demonstrated experience in executing data center or application migrations to cloud environments.

• Expertise in Linux/Unix and Windows Server administration.

• Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM) and hybrid connectivity solutions (ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, VPN, SD-WAN).

• Familiarity with contemporary DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline integration.

• Excellent documentation and client communication skills.

• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator/Architect, Terraform Associate).
