Senior Engineer – Java, Kotlin, Python

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and execute features and initiatives that align with quarterly objectives, overseeing technical implementation from conception through to production.

• Work in collaboration with product managers, designers, and analytics partners to develop solutions, establish technical strategies, and assess trade-offs.

• Design, create, and sustain scalable backend services and contemporary web applications.

• Actively identify technical, procedural, or product-related challenges and facilitate effective solutions.

• Ensure system reliability and performance by establishing monitoring, metrics, and operational best practices.

• Foster a culture of quality through code reviews, design discussions, and adherence to engineering best practices.

• Mentor and provide support to fellow engineers by offering constructive feedback and technical advice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of professional experience in software engineering.

• Extensive experience in building and scaling backend systems using technologies such as Python or Kotlin.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS), relational databases (MySQL), and containerized environments (Kubernetes).

• Experience in developing modern web applications utilizing frameworks like React or Vue.

• Strong grasp of software design principles with the capability to create scalable and maintainable architectures.

• Experience navigating large codebases and executing safe, incremental changes.

• Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration across distributed teams.

• Demonstrated ability to take ownership, drive initiatives, and achieve results.

• A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement and learning.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Nice to Have: Experience in fintech or consumer-facing product environments. Familiarity with mobile ecosystems. Experience working in distributed or nearshore teams.
