This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Convert intricate energy concepts, utility frameworks, and technical insights into straightforward, actionable language for non-technical decision-makers during all interactions with clients and prospects.
• Facilitate client-facing meetings to review energy consumption, billing structures, and cost components related to delivery, encompassing capacity and transmission fees, power factor, peak demand performance, and demand response initiatives.
• Execute cost-benefit evaluations for energy efficiency enhancements, on-site generation, energy storage, and electrification projects, including compliance routes such as NYC Local Law 97.
• Act as the owner's representative on projects involving 5, overseeing vendor and contractor relationships on behalf of the client to safeguard their interests and ensure project timelines are met.
• Track and relay updates on new utility programs, incentives, and regulatory changes that affect energy expenses, then collaborate with clients to formulate strategies that reduce costs and optimize their energy consumption.
• Organize Lunch & Learns and knowledge-sharing sessions for client facility teams that focus on energy fundamentals, innovative programs, and best practices for building management.
• Participate in prospect and client meetings alongside 5's advisors to provide technical expertise, address complex inquiries, and assist in securing opportunities where engineering knowledge is crucial.
• Aid in enhancing 5's internal data processes and client outputs to ensure that complex analyses are consistently delivered in formats that are user-friendly, visual, and ready for decision-making.
• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or a related Engineering field is required.
• Over 7 years of experience in facilities engineering, energy engineering, consulting engineering, commissioning, or a comparable role supporting commercial and industrial buildings.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred.
• Excellent communication abilities with the capacity to simplify complex technical concepts into actionable recommendations for clients and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in assessing the technical and financial viability of energy efficiency, electrification, decarbonization, or capital improvement projects, including utility coordination and incentive programs.
• Strong analytical capabilities with experience using Excel, AI tools, and other technologies to analyze energy data and enhance engineering workflows.
• Proven experience in managing engineering projects and presenting technical results to clients, vendors, consultants, and project teams.
• A working knowledge of electricity and natural gas markets, utility tariffs, demand response, and utility incentive programs is preferred.

• This position is remote. Candidates should reside in the Northeast, with a preference for the New York metro area, New Jersey, or Eastern Pennsylvania.
