
Senior Electrical Engineer – Federal Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead or support the electrical design for power distribution infrastructure, including medium- and low-voltage power, lightning protection, and grounding systems for Department of Defense (DoD) and mission-critical facility projects.
• Create integrated control sequences and schematics for power distribution equipment.
• Develop and refine product specifications for power distribution equipment and electrical components.
• Collaborate directly with client subject-matter experts to coordinate components, controls, and integration of power systems.
• Generate designs from site assessments and concept designs through to final design throughout the project lifecycle.
• Interpret and incorporate client requirements into code-compliant designs.
• Create and oversee electrical plans and details using Revit or AutoCAD software.
• Conduct power systems studies by developing electrical models in SKM or comparable software.
• Execute onsite electrical surveys and visit construction sites.
• Carry out quality-control reviews of electrical engineering designs.
• Mentor entry-level engineers.
• Prepare and evaluate design and construction cost estimates for electrical scopes of work.
• Perform construction administration tasks, including reviews of shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field, along with 8 years of relevant electrical power system design experience, or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• A valid U.S. Driver's License is necessary.
• Must successfully pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review as a condition of employment.
• A Professional Engineer's license is preferred.
• Over 15 years of experience is preferred.
• Experience with spot networks and micro-grid systems, lighting design, and electrical commissioning is preferred.
• Experience in developing Architecture/Engineering (A/E) services proposals is preferred.
• Background in a time-sensitive environment with direct client interaction and high accountability is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications is required.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, plan, adapt, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Telecommunications design experience, including networks, A/V, and electronic security design in DoD and mission-critical projects is preferred.
• Familiarity with Department of Defense requirements, including Unified Facilities Criteria and the National Electric Code is preferred.
