This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and provide support for electrical design in fuel terminals, LNG facilities, oil & gas midstream systems, compression stations, and aviation fueling systems.
• Design and evaluate low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems, grounding and bonding, lighting, motor control, heat tracing, and backup power systems.
• Conduct reviews for hazardous area classifications and ensure the selection of compliant equipment, wiring methods, and documentation.
• Utilize relevant codes, standards, and client specifications to create compliant and buildable designs.
• Create, assess, and seal (when applicable) construction drawings, specifications, engineering calculations, and design narratives.
• Generate and/or evaluate electrical studies such as load flow, short circuit, coordination, arc flash, voltage drop, conductor sizing, and grounding.
• Develop and review one-line diagrams, panel schedules, load lists, conduit and cable schedules, equipment layouts, and installation details.
• Align electrical scope with mechanical, civil, structural, and I&C disciplines to ensure consistency and constructability.
• Assist with controls and instrumentation interfaces, including PLC I/O diagrams, SCADA coordination, EFSO/ESD systems, and motor starting methods (VFDs, soft starters, MCCs).
• Review vendor submittals, packaged skid systems, and hazardous-rated electrical equipment.
• Engage in design reviews, constructability assessments, and technical coordination meetings.
• Support construction efforts including RFIs, submittal evaluations, site visits, field verifications, and commissioning assistance.
• Act as a technical liaison for clients and project stakeholders.
• Offer technical guidance, redlines, and direction to Electrical CAD Designers to ensure precise and efficient drawing production.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers, facilitating technical growth and knowledge transfer.
• Assist in proposal development, technical strategies, project planning, and client presentations as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Over 10 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required (or must be in the process of obtaining it).
• Strong understanding of IEEE standards, API guidelines, and NFPA 70 (NEC).
• Familiarity with additional NFPA codes such as NFPA 101, 407, 497, and 780; knowledge of IBC is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in leading electrical design for fueling systems, oil & gas facilities, industrial plants, or energy infrastructure projects.
• Proficient with industry-standard tools including AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, and relevant vendor software.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing electrical construction drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical narratives.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Electrical CAD Designers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Proven experience interfacing directly with clients, plant engineers, operators, and contractors.
