Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design of low voltage distribution, small power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems, security systems, ICT, access control, and life-safety systems.

• Create and assess calculations, schematics, layouts, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Utilize design tools including Amtech/Trimble, Dialux/Relux, Revit, and AutoCAD.

• Ensure adherence to BS 7671, Building Regulations, CIBSE, BS/EN standards, and local authority guidelines.

• Lead electrical design projects throughout RIBA Stages 1–6.

• Collaborate with mechanical, architectural, structural, and sustainability teams.

• Oversee project deliverables, timelines, and resource management.

• Serve as a primary contact for clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.

• Present design concepts, technical solutions, and project updates.

• Incorporate energy-efficient lighting, smart control systems, renewable technologies, EV charging solutions, and low-carbon electrical systems.

• Assist with sustainability assessments including Part L, BREEAM, NABERS, and energy strategy formulation.

• Advocate for whole-life carbon consideration and optimization of electrical systems.

• Evaluate contractor submissions and technical proposals.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Technical & Professional Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.

• Chartered or in progress towards CEng (CIBSE or IET).

• In-depth knowledge of UK electrical regulations, including BS 7671, CIBSE Guides, and pertinent British Standards.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering electrical designs for commercial offices, residential projects, hotels, retail, or mixed-use developments.

• Proficient in electrical design software (Amtech/Trimble, Dialux/Relux, Revit MEP).

• Strong communication skills and client-facing capabilities.

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Capacity to manage multiple projects at once.
