Senior Electrical Building Services Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and implementation of electrical building services systems, which encompass LV distribution, small power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, security systems, ICT, access control, and life-safety systems.

• Prepare and assess calculations, schematics, layouts, specifications, and technical reports.

• Provide electrical design packages throughout RIBA Stages 1–6.

• Collaborate with mechanical, architectural, structural, and sustainability teams during the project execution.

• Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables effectively.

• Serve as a primary contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.

• Present technical solutions, design proposals, and project updates to clients.

• Incorporate energy-efficient lighting, smart controls, EV charging infrastructure, renewable technologies, and low-carbon electrical solutions into project designs.

• Assist sustainability initiatives, including Part L compliance, BREEAM assessments, NABERS requirements, and energy strategy formulation.

• Advocate for whole-life carbon considerations and the optimization of electrical systems.

• Review contractor drawings and technical submissions, providing support during the construction phase.

• Contribute to technical leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance within the engineering team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.

• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or actively pursuing chartership through CIBSE or IET.

• In-depth knowledge of UK electrical regulations, including BS 7671, Building Regulations, CIBSE Guides, and applicable British Standards.

• Demonstrated experience in delivering electrical building services designs within the UK market.

• Experience with projects in commercial offices, residential developments, hotels, retail, and mixed-use environments.

• Extensive experience in the design of LV distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarms, security systems, ICT, access control, and life-safety systems.

• Proficient in Amtech/Trimble, Dialux/Relux, Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and other relevant electrical design software.

• Experience in leading multidisciplinary project teams and overseeing project delivery.

• Strong skills in client-facing communication and stakeholder management.

• Excellent problem-solving, technical analysis, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing demands effectively.

• Willingness to work a mid-shift schedule to facilitate collaboration with UK-based teams and stakeholders.
