Senior Domain Engineering Specialist – VDP & Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Interact with customers regarding security-related products, architectures, and risk topics associated with the Veeam Data Platform (VDP).

• Conduct readiness assessments and spearhead data modeling to confirm solution designs and expedite decisions.

• Monitor attack surfaces and vulnerabilities (including DRMM scoring), track telemetry or recurring inspection signals, identify trends, and document potential health checks.

• Validate designs to minimize risks associated with adoption and enhance time to value.

• Recognize and articulate opportunities for expansion; analyze consumption trends and arrange checkpoint reviews (with or without AE coordination).

• Collaborate with CISO/CIO stakeholders for discussions on risk, status, and opportunities; synthesize feedback from account health and CSE-led QBRs.

• Assist AEs with security- and AI-driven expansion initiatives; influence roadmap priorities alongside CSE counterparts.

• Function as a pooled resource for Enterprise and Commercial-Named accounts (typically $100K+ ARR), generally maintaining a 1 Domain Engineering Specialist to 6–8 CSE coverage ratio.

• Note: Not the primary owner for onboarding processes nor directly accountable for renewals.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in engineering architecture for cybersecurity-related products (e.g., Security Engineer/Architect, Cloud Solution Architect, MLOps/ML Engineer).

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; an advanced degree is advantageous.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent).

• Proficiency in data security and governance, including DSPM/DLP; knowledge of AI/ML architectures is a plus.

• Proven ability to engage with CISO/CIO stakeholders on risk, resilience, and modernization roadmaps.

• Practical experience with solution design, POCs, telemetry monitoring, and maturity modeling (familiarity with DRMM is beneficial).

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• VMCE certification (can be obtained post-employment).
