Senior Domain Engineering Specialist – Vault & Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable technical advisor for key customer accounts, delivering specialized knowledge in data resilience, security, cloud-native technologies, and Kubernetes platforms.

• Facilitate architecture reviews, resilience assessments, operational readiness evaluations, and solution validation initiatives to uncover risks, deficiencies, and chances to enhance resilience and recoverability.

• Interact with technical and executive stakeholders regarding resilience strategies, cyber recovery readiness, cloud modernization, and operational best practices.

• Offer guidance on safeguarding and recovering workloads in virtual, physical, cloud, SaaS, and containerized settings.

• Evaluate Kubernetes and container-based application architectures, advising on data protection, disaster recovery, and operational resilience for cloud-native workloads.

• Examine telemetry, trends in platform adoption, and operational metrics to pinpoint optimization opportunities and signs for expansion.

• Work collaboratively with Customer Success, Sales Engineering, Product Management, and Support teams to address complex technical issues and champion customer outcomes.

• Conduct technical workshops, executive briefings, and strategic advisory sessions that foster adoption and promote long-term customer success.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in Kubernetes data protection, cloud-native resilience, container platforms, and the Veeam Kasten portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in technical consulting, solution architecture, platform engineering, cloud engineering, customer success, infrastructure engineering, or related technical fields.

• Strong proficiency in Kubernetes, container platforms, cloud-native architectures, platform engineering, or data protection technologies.

• Experience in designing, deploying, supporting, or advising on containerized ecosystems, including Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Tanzu, or managed Kubernetes services in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Knowledge of cloud-native application architectures, microservices, service meshes, and container orchestration.

• Proficient in backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and operational resilience for Kubernetes and cloud-native applications.

• Familiar with DevOps, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and contemporary application delivery practices.

• Experience with hybrid cloud, virtualization, storage, networking, and enterprise infrastructure.

• Capability to engage with technical and executive stakeholders and convert complex technical concepts into business outcomes.

• Background in conducting architecture reviews, technical assessments, workshops, proofs of concept, or strategic advisory initiatives.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.

• Preferred: Relevant certifications such as VMCE, CKA, CKAD, Red Hat OpenShift, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, or similar credentials.
