This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide support and maintain internal reference data processes that are aligned with industry-standard clinical ontologies, such as ICD-10, SNOMED CT, LOINC, and RxNorm, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of code mappings.
• Implement data quality monitoring routines to detect, document, and address gaps or inconsistencies in healthcare data assets; escalate systemic issues to the Senior Director of Informatics.
• Utilize and enhance clinical normalization techniques to convert unstructured and semi-structured clinical information into standardized codified data elements.
• Assist in evaluating new data assets for depth, specificity, and quality; support the Expert Determination workflow; and prepare structured assessments and summaries for leadership review.
• Work closely with Data Engineering, Product, and Clinical teams to ensure that data specifications are correctly implemented and that downstream data products accurately reflect high-fidelity source data.
• Aid in the development and monitoring of Data Quality (DQ) KPIs and benchmarks; produce periodic reports to guide stakeholder decision-making.
• Engage in pipeline modernization initiatives, helping to transition legacy reference tables to modern, scalable terminology service frameworks.
• Ensure compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures, and mission statement.
• Comply with all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as specified in Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures at all times concerning the data handled or services provided in this role.
• Carry out responsibilities and/or tasks as reasonably assigned by Inovalon to achieve the operational and financial success of the Company.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (B.A./B.S.) in Health Informatics, Medical Informatics, Computer Science, Health Information Management, or a related field is required.
• A Master’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (M.A./M.S.) in Medical Informatics, Health Informatics, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., RHIA, CCS, CHDA, or equivalent) are a plus.
• At least 8 years of experience in healthcare data, clinical informatics, or a related field, with direct, hands-on experience in clinical ontologies and terminology management (with a Bachelor's degree) is required, or
• At least 5 years of experience in healthcare data, clinical informatics, or a related field, with direct, hands-on experience in clinical ontologies and terminology management (with a Master's degree) is required.
• Proficiency in clinical code sets including ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, SNOMED CT, LOINC, and RxNorm.
• Proficient in SQL for querying, analyzing, and validating large-scale healthcare datasets.
• Demonstrated experience with clinical data normalization, including mapping unstructured data to standardized terminologies.
• Ability to effectively document findings, prepare summaries, and convey data quality insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Capability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize deliverables in a fast-paced, agile environment.
