This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Provide strategic leadership and daily management of the Bank's BSA/AML compliance program, which includes the filing of Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), processing of Currency Transaction Reports (CTR), and adherence to Customer Due Diligence (CDD/EDD) mandates.
• Direct the annual assessment of BSA/AML risks, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all banking operations.
• Maintain and enhance BSA/AML policies, procedures, and controls to align with FinCEN guidance, the FFIEC BSA/AML Examination Manual, and relevant state laws.
• Supervise the Bank's transaction monitoring program, focusing on system configuration, alert optimization, and escalation procedures.
• Guarantee timely, complete, and precise regulatory reporting to FinCEN, including overseeing lookback reviews or remediation efforts when necessary.
• Lead the Bank's OFAC/sanctions screening initiatives, ensuring that controls are effectively implemented across mortgage loan origination, commercial credit underwriting, ACH, wire transfers, and other payment methods.
• Manage the fraud risk intelligence function, collaborating with Operations, Retail Banking, and Commercial Banking to address emerging fraud typologies pertinent to lending and deposit products.
• Act as the primary compliance partner for the Mortgage and Consumer Lending business line, ensuring that financial crime controls are integrated throughout the origination process.
• Serve as the main contact for BSA/AML and financial crimes-related internal audits and examinations.
• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law, or a related discipline is required; a J.D., M.B.A., or advanced degree is strongly preferred.
• At least 8 years of progressive experience in BSA/AML compliance, financial crimes, or regulatory compliance within a federally regulated financial institution or a leading consulting firm.
• A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership capacity with direct oversight of compliance teams and regulatory relationships.
• Demonstrated proficiency in BSA/AML regulatory requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN regulations, and FFIEC examination guidance.
• Significant hands-on experience with compliance in mortgage origination, consumer lending regulations, and financial crimes risk in commercial banking.
• Proven success in managing federal and/or state regulatory examinations, including examination oversight, regulatory responses, and remediation implementation.
• Advanced expertise in transaction monitoring systems such as Verafin, NICE Actimize, FIS MISER, Jack Henry Banno, or equivalent platforms.
• Certification as an Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) is preferred.
