This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +3 more states.
• Develop and implement a long-term strategy for HackerOne's global security researcher community, ensuring alignment with community growth, engagement, and researcher success initiatives that support company goals and customer outcomes.
• Take ownership of the product strategy, roadmap, and financial performance (P&L / profitability) of the Live Hacking Events suite, striking a balance between customer value, researcher economics, and profit margins as you expand the portfolio.
• Oversee the management and technical execution of live hacking engagements from start to finish — including scoping, researcher staffing and matching, event execution, quality assurance, and customer outcomes — across a diverse, high-touch enterprise customer base.
• Manage customer segmentation and engagement for the community and events portfolio, customizing delivery models for various segments and maintaining senior customer relationships that rely on them.
• Establish and achieve researcher growth and expansion objectives linked to the product line — attracting, developing, and retaining suitable researchers to fulfill customer demands and event requirements.
• Advocate for AI First principles by integrating AI into community operations, researcher empowerment, event experiences, communications, and program delivery, aiming to create scalable, high-quality experiences while enhancing operational efficiency.
• Lead the Hacker Success and Community Events teams, nurturing leadership, enhancing organizational capacity, and implementing systems that enable the teams to scale effectively and sustainably through Multiply Your Impact.
• Utilize Data-Driven Decision Making to define community health metrics, engagement frameworks, researcher lifecycle analytics, and profitability, delivery, and utilization metrics for the events product line that inform investment choices and drive measurable business outcomes.
• Forge strategic partnerships across Product, Marketing, Customer Success, Security, Revenue, and Executive Leadership to ensure that community insights shape company priorities, product direction, and customer value creation.
• Exhibit First Principles Problem Solving by assessing community programs, researcher experiences, and delivery processes from fundamental customer and researcher needs, simplifying systems and eliminating barriers to participation and success.
• Lead with Change Agility, assisting the organization in adapting to changing security landscapes, AI-driven transformations in offensive security, and evolving community expectations while maintaining clarity, focus, and trust.
• Take responsibility for community growth, engagement, researcher retention, profitability from live hacking events, delivery quality, and operational excellence through clear accountability systems, success metrics, and disciplined execution.
• Over 12 years of experience in security / bug bounty, professional services or technical delivery, customer/client management, and community or ecosystem leadership, including managing managers and senior individual contributors.
• Direct experience in security, professional services, client management, and/or bug bounty, sufficient to lead technical delivery and build trust with both researchers and enterprise customers.
• Proven track record of owning a product line, service line, or P&L, with accountability for profitability and growth objectives.
• Experience managing intricate customer delivery and segmentation across global, enterprise accounts.
• Demonstrated ability to build and execute growth strategies that yield measurable business outcomes (engagement, retention, advocacy, revenue, or margin).
• Proficient in utilizing analytics and operational metrics to guide strategy and enhance organizational performance.
