This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Generate innovative, thought-provoking, and essential "must-have insight" content.
• Collaborate with a team of highly skilled analysts and advisors to create authoritative insights and advice that directly tackle the priorities and challenges faced by cloud service provider clients.
• Act as a subject matter expert on the technology market, buyer behavior, and local market implications (including regulatory and compliance) that influence the delivery of cloud services across North America.
• Innovate new insights and concepts through thought leadership, providing compelling and actionable solutions to meet client needs and requests that enhance the client's capacity to act.
• Conduct thorough analyses to uncover the root causes of client barriers or overall needs and reframe perspectives to advance strategy.
• Exhibit thought leadership by establishing insights positions across a team of analysts.
• Deliver provocative, independent insights to Gartner leaders that can shape the direction of a research agenda.
• Research, analyze, and forecast market trends and shifts to furnish clients and vendors with actionable insights.
• Offer clients and prospects actionable advice pertinent to their designated content area through virtual or in-person interactions.
• Develop and present high-value presentation materials for Gartner events, industry conferences, and client briefings.
• Support BTI and Sales: Provide sales assistance by acting as the voice of the market to aid Insights teams in content creation and drive client engagement to progress their critical priorities for business growth.
• Deliver high-quality and timely peer review of content.
• Establish credibility as an industry expert to represent Gartner's insights, methodology, and strategies.
• Actively engage in innovation, ideation, and research discussions while collaborating effectively with peers in the Insights community.
• Identify improvements in research processes or develop new methods that enhance the team's ability to deliver excellent service.
• Mentor and coach junior team members by providing support.
• Maintain a client-centric approach while consistently seeking to facilitate regular client engagement with Gartner insights and interactions.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; a graduate degree is preferred.
• Over 12 years of relevant field or industry experience.
• Strong understanding of business, technology, channel, and go-to-market conditions.
• Direct experience with large vendors (such as AWS, Microsoft, Google, Oracle, IBM, etc.).
• Hands-on experience in developing a cloud selection and adoption strategy (including key issues, vendors, partners, and best practices).
• In-depth knowledge of the IaaS, PaaS, or Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Services markets, along with an understanding of the strengths of hyperscalers and the competitive landscape for adjunct IT services.
• Exhibit executive presence; capable of instantly establishing credibility with executives and other stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills; able to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
• Demonstrate excellence in research and writing capabilities.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills, analytical abilities, and presentation skills; capable of engaging clients and effectively addressing their inquiries.
• Skilled in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while deriving and justifying conclusions to client challenges.
• Strong communicator who can articulate complex concepts in a clear and simple manner.
• Subject matter expert comfortable presenting at both large and small-scale speaking engagements.
• Strong business and financial acumen.
• Extensive knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area, as well as the interactions in that market.
• Capacity to work independently while being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others within a multicultural global team.
• Learning agility and adeptness in navigating highly matrixed environments.
• Ability to effectively represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies across all levels.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (as applicable).
