• Develop innovative, thought-provoking, and essential research content, such as the creation of Magic Quadrants, vendor evaluations, and research streams that guide client decision-making and vendor selections.
• Generate new research ideas through thought leadership and present compelling, actionable solutions to meet client needs and requests, enhancing the client's ability to take action.
• Conduct thorough analyses to pinpoint the underlying causes of client challenges or overall needs, shifting perspectives to advance strategic initiatives.
• Exhibit thought leadership by establishing research positions within a team of analysts.
• Provide provocative, independent insights to Gartner leadership that can shape the direction of the research agenda.
• Research, analyze, and forecast market trends and transformations—particularly concerning hyperscaler operationalization of AI and AI vendor ecosystems—to deliver actionable insights to clients and vendors.
• Offer clients and prospects actionable recommendations through virtual or in-person interactions, ensuring timely procurement and architectural decisions.
• Create and present high-value presentation materials for Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, C-level briefings, and vendor meetings.
• Support sales efforts by acting as the voice of the market, aiding research teams in content creation, and fostering engagement with clients to advance their critical business priorities.
• Conduct high-quality and timely peer reviews of research content.
• Establish credibility as an industry expert representing Gartner's research, methodologies, and strategies.
• Actively engage in innovation, ideation, and research discussions, collaborating effectively with peers in the research community.
• Identify opportunities for research process improvements or develop new workflows that enhance service delivery for the team and Research & Advisory.
• Mentor and coach junior team members, providing support and guidance.
• Maintain a client-centric approach while proactively facilitating regular engagement between clients and Gartner's research and interactions.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree is preferred.
• Over 10 years of relevant industry or field experience.
• Strong organizational capabilities; ability to perform under tight deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
• Proven excellence in research and writing skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication proficiency, along with analytical and presentation skills; ability to effectively engage clients and respond to inquiries.
• Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; capable of applying patterns and frameworks while articulating and defending conclusions to client challenges.
• Excellent communicator able to convey complex concepts in a clear and straightforward manner.
• Subject matter expert comfortable with presenting at both large and small-scale speaking engagements.
• Strong business and financial acumen.
• Extensive knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area, as well as the dynamics of that market.
• Ability to work independently while being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support others' workflows in a multicultural global team.
• Learning agile and skilled at navigating complex, matrixed environments.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable).
