Senior Director, AI Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement a comprehensive long-term data science strategy.

• Serve as the key point of contact between the Product Management team and the Data Science department.

• Assist in the transition of SurveyMonkey from a conventional SaaS product to an AI-centric platform.

• Lead the strategy for the integration and utilization of Large Language Models and sophisticated Natural Language Processing techniques.

• Establish technical standards for model creation, deployment, monitoring, and upkeep.

• Guide, mentor, and motivate a high-achieving team of data scientists and machine learning engineers.

• Attract top-tier data science professionals, oversee performance management, and outline career advancement paths.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in the field of data science.

• Significant expertise in AI/ML platforms.

• A minimum of 5 years in a Director-level leadership role overseeing and expanding data science or machine learning teams within a commercial software setting.

• Experience in building or managing AI/ML platforms in a Cloud environment such as AWS.

• Extensive hands-on experience along with a profound theoretical grasp of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and experimental design.

• Proven track record in implementing, fine-tuning, and integrating Large Language Models and advanced Natural Language Processing techniques into production systems.

• Outstanding capability to convert vague or high-level product requirements into clear, actionable data science challenges and solutions.

• Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
