Senior DevOps, Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Ensure that MAIA's platform is dependable, secure, auditable, and conducive for developers.

• Assume complete responsibility for our infrastructure, prioritizing Hetzner, along with AWS, GCP, and Azure for selected services.

• Manage our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and deployment processes, while continuously enhancing rollout strategies, versioning, and rollback procedures.

• Develop, enhance, and maintain our observability stack (Grafana, Loki, Sentry, PostHog).

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience managing production systems on Linux servers that you have personally administered, rather than solely relying on managed services like ECS, Cloud Run, App Service, or similar.

• Strong proficiency in Docker and Docker Compose within a production environment.

• Familiarity with reverse proxies and API gateways such as Traefik or Kong.

• Practical experience with PostgreSQL operations: including backup and restore processes that you have set up and verified, performance awareness, and connection pooling.

• Demonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent).

• Experience working with an observability stack such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, or similar tools.

• Solid understanding of security principles: IAM and least privilege, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and patch management.

• Proficient in English; proficiency in German is an advantage.
