Senior DevOps Engineer – Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Deploy, integrate, and manage high-performance storage solutions for GPU-accelerated computing and AI platforms.

• Take ownership of the storage layer where Kubernetes interacts with bare metal — establishing NFS-based high-performance storage, connecting it to clusters via CSI, and optimizing it to ensure data flows efficiently to GPU workloads at scale.

• Engage in hybrid, edge, and air-gapped deployments utilizing the Mirantis K0rdent stack.

• Approach storage as infrastructure that should be automated, monitored, and optimized — rather than managed manually.

• Proficient in Kubernetes storage, and comfortable working on bare metal, including the disk, kernel, and NFS-client layers.

• Embrace infrastructure-as-code and GitOps as standard practices, take initiative in diagnosing performance and reliability issues comprehensively, establish operational benchmarks for others, and communicate effectively across teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure operations, with substantial hands-on experience managing Kubernetes storage (CSI, persistent volumes, storage classes) in a production environment.

• Proven experience in integrating and operating NFS-based high-performance/NAS storage, including data-path tuning.

• Experience with bare-metal operations: host provisioning, disk/storage configuration, and foundational Linux storage and networking knowledge.

• Expertise in infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/OpenTofu) and GitOps-driven configuration.

• Skills in scripting/automation (e.g., Bash, Python, or Go).

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with technical audiences.
