Senior DevOps Engineer – Smart City Open Source

📋 Description

• Play an active role in shaping the future of a young and innovative company focused on open source and reusable software solutions.

• Elevate your passion for smart homes or automation and assist our clients, particularly in smart cities, in overcoming challenges across various domains such as data management, mobility, energy, and climate.

• Collaborate with a strong team to design innovative software architectures and implement them using cutting-edge technologies.

• Oversee the entire lifecycle of the emerging solutions, from prototypes to production deployment.


⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in IT, ideally with a focus on software development and operations.

• You have completed a degree in computer science, business informatics, electrical engineering, or a related IT qualification.

• Career changers with relevant training or additional professional experience are also welcome.

• You possess German language skills at a minimum C1 level and can effectively use them in a professional context.

• You are comfortable interacting with clients and are willing to lead training sessions and workshops (approximately twice a month, remotely).

• You have experience using DevOps tools, have worked with microservices in the cloud, and are familiar with agile development environments.

• Experience with Software as a Service, containers, Kubernetes, or automated deployment, preferably in personal projects.

• Your analytical skills enable you to quickly engage in new projects and collaboratively develop tailored solutions with clients.

• You bring enthusiasm for systematically solving technical challenges.

• Ideally, you have gained experience with open source through your own projects.

• You are proficient in various scripting or programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, C#, or Shell scripts and are motivated to quickly learn new programming languages.

• CI/CD, GitOps, Helm, Ansible, or Terraform are not completely foreign to you.

• You are open to taking on on-call duties during weekends (only during the day and compensated).
