This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +21 more states.
• Spearheading the design and execution of durable, scalable, and secure cloud-native solutions on AWS.
• Partnering with security professionals to convert organizational security needs into secure and compliant cloud solutions.
• Creating and managing infrastructure-as-code to control and provision infrastructure across multiple Azure and AWS accounts, ensuring uniformity and efficiency.
• Sustaining and enhancing CI/CD automation pipelines to support swift and dependable software deployments.
• Developing automation scripts in Python, Bash, JavaScript, and other pertinent languages to optimize operational processes.
• Assisting in the development and upkeep of infrastructure that supports Generative AI applications on domain-specific datasets.
• Automating the creation and management of front-end and back-end applications, pipelines, security tools, and more.
• Establishing and promoting best practices and standards for DevOps success within Element 84 and our client organizations.
• Over 6 years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years dedicated to Cloud Technologies.
• Strong, hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is essential, including the ability to write, maintain, and troubleshoot intricate configurations for cloud environments.
• Significant experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript).
• Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing infrastructure and services on a leading cloud platform.
• Capability to effectively document and convey complex architectural concepts at various levels, including delivering presentations, creating visual architecture representations, and authoring white papers.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate trade-offs among critical factors such as security, performance, maintainability, and cost.
• Proven capability to handle multiple tasks and efficiently prioritize work across competing demands and numerous clients.
• Extensive background in Agile Development software teams.
• Solid experience with Linux environments.
• In-depth understanding of cloud architecture patterns and trade-offs (e.g., serverless versus provisioned, managed services versus self-hosting).
• Expertise in build and deployment automation tools.
• Proficiency with infrastructure monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, AWS Config, Kibana, Splunk, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Honeycomb, etc.).
• Experience with data storage and data engineering tools and technologies (e.g., ElasticSearch, SQL, NoSQL, DynamoDB, Redshift, Athena, Glue, etc.).
• Familiarity with networking tools and technologies and troubleshooting issues (CloudFront, Route53, Load Balancers, API Gateway, VPCs, NACLs, etc.).
• Technical cloud certification (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert) or a willingness to obtain one.
• Active NOAA CAC badge.
