This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania, +1 more state.
• Engage in all phases of the software and data product development lifecycle, encompassing user story creation, design, development, automated testing, and operational support.
• Enhance quality by actively participating in code reviews and adhering to established team quality standards.
• Collaborate with fellow engineers to advance technology and consistently implement best practices.
• Take ownership of the execution of medium to large-scale features with advanced technical support.
• Clearly describe and document your work for both technical colleagues and non-technical stakeholders.
• Approach the application holistically, focusing on long-term maintainability and efficiency.
• Work collaboratively to provide estimates and insights to clients, project managers, and others regarding features to assess their feasibility, complexity, cost, and priority.
• Foster a culture of positivity, curiosity, and respect for every individual.
• Over 6 years of experience as a Software, Data, or DevOps Engineer, with at least 3 years of experience in AWS.
• Proven experience in developing enterprise-scale applications using Kubernetes and Helm charts.
• Proficient in building and operating Kubernetes through EKS in Amazon Web Services.
• Strong Linux expertise with hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving production Kubernetes incidents at the node and kernel levels.
• Experience in migrating data stores such as Solr, Aerospike, or others to the cloud.
• Knowledge of hybrid deployments and operations between on-premise and cloud environments (e.g., hybrid EKS, database synchronization).
• Familiarity with GitOps/infrastructure-as-code practices (CloudFormation, Terraform, CDK).
• Understanding of cloud architecture patterns and their trade-offs (Serverless, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Experience with build and deployment automation tools (Harness, GitLab, Ansible, etc.).
• Knowledge of infrastructure and application monitoring tools, such as CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Honeycomb, AWS Config, Kibana, Splunk, Grafana, etc.
• Strong commitment to automated testing and continuous integration.
• Advocate for continuous improvement and eager to introduce new ideas to the team.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a remote environment.
• Energetic, self-driven team player experienced in a scrum setting.
• Industry Certification: AWS Associate-level certification is mandatory. If not currently held, the candidate must successfully acquire this certification within 12 months of their start date.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science or Engineering (equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
