This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Design, construct, and oversee AWS infrastructure utilizing Terraform, emphasizing reusable modules and standardization.
• Manage and enhance AWS services, which include ECS, EC2, Lambda, SQS/DLQ, CloudWatch, and IAM.
• Create and refine CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CodeDeploy) to ensure consistent and reliable deployments.
• Develop and improve observability frameworks (logging, monitoring, alerting) across distributed systems.
• Implement and oversee identity and access controls, including SSO and access brokering.
• Collaborate with the Security team on platform hardening and integration with security tools (e.g., SIEM, DLP).
• Engage in platform engineering initiatives.
• Lead cost optimization initiatives across AWS (rightsizing, reserved capacity, scaling strategies, and cost visibility).
• Diagnose production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement enduring solutions.
• Continuously enhance infrastructure through automation, documentation, and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate closely with the Engineering team to design, deploy, secure, and maintain containerization and deployment consistently.
• Work with Compliance teams on PCI DSS, ISO27001, and SOC2 standards to ensure infrastructure compliance.
• Extensive experience as a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer within AWS environments.
• In-depth hands-on knowledge of AWS services (ECS, EC2, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS, etc.).
• Strong understanding of AWS networking (VPC design, routing, security groups, NACLs, private/public architectures).
• Proven experience with Terraform, including the development of reusable modules.
• Willingness to engage with and experience in infrastructure-as-code methodologies, with a preference for Terraform but other IaC tools are also acceptable.
• Solid grasp of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and cloud best practices.
• Experience in designing and managing multi-region architectures.
• Strong CI/CD proficiency (GitHub Actions, CodeDeploy, or equivalent).
• Experience with identity and access management, including SSO.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and containerization (Docker, ECS).
• Experience in building and maintaining observability and monitoring systems.
