Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Assist in the growth, enhancement, and maintenance of the infrastructure and automation that supports current services.

• Create new infrastructure capabilities for WASSHA.

• Focus on establishing, maintaining, and supporting the migration of existing legacy services to a new Kubernetes cluster.

• Collaborate with fellow engineering colleagues.

• Foster a positive engineering culture by promoting knowledge sharing and engaging in technical discussions within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience as a DevOps engineer.

• General knowledge of serving and configuring RDS and other database technologies.

• Practical understanding of SRE-related topics and their implementation.

• A 'you build it, you run it' mindset: experience managing services from development through deployment to monitoring and incident support.

• Enthusiasm for working in an agile, cross-functional team, rapidly iterating during the product development cycle.

• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product managers, and engineering colleagues.

• A desire to make a positive impact on our users through continuous improvement and optimization.

• Proficiency with AWS, containers, Kubernetes, Bazel, and Terraform is essential.

• Additional language skills in Japanese are required, as we are a Japanese company and much of our knowledge base is still documented in Japanese. Proficiency in Swahili, French, or Portuguese is also beneficial, as our customer base resides in countries where these languages are spoken.
