This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the construction and maintenance of a container-based infrastructure that is robust, redundant, scalable, and compliant while supporting team efforts in similar initiatives.
• Join the SmithRx Agile development team to facilitate end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management within a cloud environment.
• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the technical and other challenges faced by SmithRx; collaborate with various teams to pinpoint and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate closely with our development team to create and sustain CI/CD pipelines in a reproducible and secure manner.
• Monitor and resolve infrastructure issues, conducting root cause analysis when needed.
• Work alongside developers to ensure that applications and services are designed with scalability, reliability, and security as priorities.
• Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability through proactive measures.
• Foster a collaborative learning environment by exploring new technologies, applying best practices, and experimenting with innovations.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Create custom scripts to enhance system efficiency and reduce the need for human intervention in various tasks.
• Assess application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, devise solutions, and implement them with developer assistance.
• Effectively uphold SmithRx's security program controls and best practices.
• Navigate the health regulatory landscape, ensuring that systems remain HIPAA compliant.
• Make informed decisions regarding technical trade-offs, infrastructure costs, and resource utilization.
• Participate in on-call PagerDuty rotations.
• Over 5 years of experience in DevOps.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science or a related field.
• Proven experience in deploying and monitoring web applications on AWS.
• Active team member in both product development and operations teams, providing optimal DevOps practices and support for applications with viable strategies.
• Security-focused mindset with demonstrated experience in building secure development and testing environments integrated with CI/CD pipelines and software release cycles.
• Experience in building and maintaining container-based infrastructures and working with Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform experience is a plus) and infrastructure testing methodologies.
• Proficient in infrastructure automation, systems reliability, load balancing, monitoring, and logging.
• Skilled in fully automating CI/CD pipelines using relevant tools such as CircleCI and GitHub Actions.
• Experience in regulated environments with data privacy regulations like GDPR and HIPAA is preferred.
• Knowledgeable in managing SQL and NoSQL databases, including Redis, Redshift, AWS RDS, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, and Snowflake.
• Strong scripting abilities in languages such as shell scripts, Perl, Ruby, Python, Go, Groovy, Helm, etc.
