Senior DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance our security posture — from managing access controls and secrets to handling vulnerability triage and audit logging — ensuring our systems align with the expectations of our enterprise clients.

• Design, construct, and sustain secure, scalable infrastructure in AWS utilizing Terraform, supporting millions of browser sessions each day.

• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to evaluate infrastructure requirements, perform security assessments, and guarantee that developer tools and CI/CD workflows incorporate security from the outset rather than as an afterthought.

• Engage in the engineering team's on-call rotation, addressing incidents and taking responsibility for the resolution process.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in deploying and managing containerized applications in AWS.

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies (our choice is Terraform).

• Intermediate knowledge of networking concepts, including firewalls, load balancers, DNS, VPC architecture and peering, as well as zero-trust network access (we utilize Tailscale).

• Intermediate understanding of cloud security standards, such as least-privilege IAM, secrets management, API authentication and abuse prevention, audit logging, network segmentation, and proactive vulnerability triage, among others.

• Proven hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Circle CI, GitHub Actions), containerization (Docker), and orchestration platforms.

• Familiarity with legal/compliance frameworks like SOC2, GDPR, etc. (Nice to Have).

• Intermediate knowledge and experience with NoSQL document databases (MongoDB) and/or relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) (Nice to Have).

• Experience working effectively in a distributed, remote-first team setting (Nice to Have).

• A non-traditional path into software with insights from experiences beyond engineering (Nice to Have).
