Senior Developer, COBOL, .NET

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain systems utilizing COBOL DB2, COBOL CICS, and COBOL Batch, ensuring optimal performance and process reliability.

• Manage sequential files and VSAM to guarantee data integrity along with efficient read/write operations.

• Prepare and execute JCL (Job Control Language) for job and process management in a mainframe environment.

• Utilize Roscoe for editing and manipulating both code and data on the mainframe.

• Create and execute test scenarios to ensure code quality and that deliveries meet project expectations.

• Adopt code versioning practices using GIT.

• Develop COBOL programs without a user interface and integrate them with APIs through z/OS Connect.

• Collaborate in using containers for the development and testing of COBOL programs within a DevOps setting.

• Uphold high standards of quality, documentation, and code clarity—cleanliness, non-redundancy, and standardization are essential.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience with COBOL DB2, COBOL CICS, and COBOL Batch.

• Knowledgeable in handling sequential files and VSAM.

• Proficient in JCL and the use of Roscoe within a mainframe environment.

• Demonstrated experience in creating and executing test scenarios.

• Familiarity with GIT and effective versioning practices.

• Experience in developing headless COBOL programs and integrating them with APIs via z/OS Connect.

• Understanding of utilizing containers for development and testing in COBOL environments.

• Previous experience in the banking industry.

• Experience with Azure DevOps.

• Knowledge of .NET—experience with z/OS, Console, and Web Services is highly valued.

• Background in DevOps and CI/CD environments.
