Senior Developer – Banking & Insurance Software Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Sustain, enhance, and stabilize current ABAP-based applications within a banking framework, focusing primarily on SAP CML and accounting-related processes.

• Analyze and comprehend intricate financial products, cash flows, interest calculations, and accounting principles.

• Convert functional, business, and regulatory requirements into solid and maintainable technical solutions.

• Debug, refactor, and enhance existing code to guarantee long-term quality and system reliability.

• Serve as a technical liaison for functional stakeholders and assist with clarifications from a business standpoint.

• Collaborate with distributed teams, including functional specialists, developers, and user assistance.

• Contribute to documentation, testing, and the continuous enhancement of existing applications.

• Assume ownership and accountability for applications and products throughout their entire lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in computer science, business administration, finance, engineering, or a similar qualification, or equivalent practical experience with a strong functional emphasis.

• A robust understanding of banking processes, particularly SAP CML, cash flows, interest calculations, and accounting principles.

• Several years of experience in ABAP development, ideally within an SAP S/4HANA environment (either on-premise or private cloud).

• A strong analytical mindset and capability to effectively navigate complex, existing system landscapes.

• Proficiency in translating intricate financial and regulatory requirements into clear and stable technical implementations.

• Experience adhering to established development standards, including documentation and maintainable code structures.

• Willingness to engage with existing codebases (maintenance, enhancement, refactoring).

• A customer-oriented approach (customers first), both internal and external, with a readiness to take ownership of a product.

• Excellent German and English language skills.

• Nice to Have

• Familiarity with SAP FI in a banking context.

• Background in accounting or regulatory-driven banking projects.

• Knowledge of SAP Treasury and Risk Management (TRM), particularly concerning financial instruments, cash flows, and valuation logic.
