• Drive in-depth collaboration with engineering teams and subject matter experts to formulate strategies that are grounded in both technical realities and human requirements.
• Serve as a strategic link between technical and non-technical stakeholders, harmonizing perspectives and fostering mutual understanding at both program and portfolio levels.
• Guide product, service, and program strategies through insights derived from research that impact direction, prioritization, and decision-making processes.
• Establish content strategy, information architecture, and experience frameworks, leading wireframing and content mapping initiatives across various teams.
• Direct information designers and collaborate with strategists and designers to create impactful visual frameworks, journey maps, and decision-support tools.
• Convert intricate systems, research outcomes, and trade-offs into visual representations that facilitate executive-level assessment and confident decision-making.
• Enhance the clarity and thoroughness of research communication by crafting compelling, accessible visual narratives.
• Design and conduct high-stakes workshops, design sprints, and co-creation sessions that unite diverse stakeholders and promote strategic objectives.
• Create human-centered facilitation strategies, agendas, and materials that empower government teams to collaborate, innovate, and manage complexities.
• Integrate qualitative and quantitative feedback from workshops to identify essential insights, strategic opportunities, and alignment or decision gaps that guide future actions.
• Spearhead the planning and execution of mixed-method user research, including interviews, contextual inquiries, and stakeholder analyses, to guide strategy and design directions.
• Distill complex research into actionable insights, opportunity areas, and strategic recommendations that influence senior stakeholders.
• Transform technical and policy-intensive concepts into clear, human-centered narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
• Oversee and conduct both primary and secondary research, blending qualitative and quantitative findings into coherent strategic viewpoints.
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Communication, Sociology/Psychology, or related fields.
• Over 10 years of experience in design strategy or similar roles.
• Proficiency in human-centered design and design thinking methodologies, with a demonstrable ability to convert data into impactful visual narratives.
• Extensive background in various design disciplines (e.g., service design, experience design, brand development, information design, graphic design) and capability to recommend optimal solutions for each project.
• Skilled in designing and leading design thinking and interactive research sessions with executive leaders and their teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a talent for effective collaboration with clients and cross-functional teams.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and other professional design tools.
• Experience in government contracting.
• Security clearance as mandated by contracts.
• Design portfolio showcasing expertise in design strategy and related project outcomes.
• Secret clearance preferred.
