Senior Database Administrator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Design and maintain database schemas, stored procedures, and SQL queries.

• Enhance database performance and address any bottlenecks.

• Oversee database health, availability, and system stability.

• Assist in database backup, recovery, and replication procedures.

• Collaborate with development teams on data-related needs.

• Diagnose and resolve database incidents and production challenges.

• Apply best practices for database security and dependability.

• Contribute to initiatives for database migration and modernization.

• Automate routine tasks related to database administration.

• Ensure clear technical documentation and operational procedures are maintained.

• Engage in enhancing internal database standards and processes.

• Support ongoing improvement of database infrastructure and performance.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a related position.

• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.

• Practical experience with MySQL or MariaDB.

• Proven expertise in query optimization and database performance tuning.

• Familiarity with database design, normalization, and indexing techniques.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure SQL or AWS RDS.

• Experience with backup, replication, and disaster recovery methods.

• Understanding of database monitoring and observability tools.

• Basic scripting abilities in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.

• Proficient in English at an upper-intermediate level or higher.
