
Senior Data Scientist/Analyst β OMOP

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.
β’ Collaborate with researchers to comprehend project needs and convert them into solutions compatible with OHDSI/DARWIN.
β’ Construct, validate, and execute OMOP CDM cohorts and analyses utilizing: ATLAS (cohort definition, characterization, exploration), ATHENA (vocabulary browsing, concept sets), ACHILLES (data characterization and quality insights), and R packages within the OHDSI/DARWIN ecosystem (for cohort execution, characterization, estimation, and related workflows).
β’ Conduct analyses using ATLAS and/or Prometheus or through programmatic workflows in R (and Python when appropriate), based on study requirements and platform patterns.
β’ Tailor and enhance OHDSI tools and applications as necessary to meet project or portfolio-specific needs.
β’ Apply and document observational study designs and epidemiological concepts for Real-World Evidence (e.g., descriptive epidemiology, cohort designs, self-controlled designs, comparative approaches as suitable).
β’ Implement and interpret suitable statistical methods, including strategies for confounding control, time-to-event approaches, sensitivity analyses, and evaluations fit for purpose.
β’ Maintain knowledge of machine learning and statistical concepts to assist with exploratory modeling, feature engineering, prediction workflows (when relevant), and method selection.
β’ Create reusable and maintainable analytic code, emphasizing reproducibility and auditability (clear methods, parameterization, and structured outputs).
β’ Integrate AI-assisted workflows (beneficial and can be taught) to enhance efficiency in: code generation/refactoring, validation and QA checks, documentation and study write-ups, exploratory analysis, and summary generation while ensuring results are transparent, traceable, and scientifically defensible.
β’ Utilize GitHub extensively (branching, pull requests, code reviews, issue tracking) to produce collaborative, production-grade analytics.
β’ Master's degree in Statistics or a related field.
β’ Proven experience with OMOP CDM and OHDSI tools, including ATLAS (or Prometheus), ATHENA, and ACHILLES.
β’ Proficiency in common OHDSI community languages: SQL and R.
β’ Strong grasp of observational study design and epidemiological concepts, with a focus on Real-World Evidence.
β’ Experience with healthcare data such as EHR and insurance claims, including healthcare data standards and evaluations fit for purpose.
β’ Solid understanding of clinical terminologies such as SNOMED, ICD-9/10, CPT, HCPCS, READ (and related standard vocabularies used in OMOP).
β’ Experience in data quality assessment and data validation techniques.
β’ Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality outputs with comprehensive documentation and collaboration.
β’ Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in cross-functional teams.
β’ Excellent communication abilities, with the capacity to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Significant experience in developing and maintaining documentation for Real-World Evidence studies and insights generation.
β’ Demonstrated willingness and capability to incorporate AI tools into workflows for enhanced efficiency and quality.
