
Senior Data Scientist – Time Series, Forecasting Models

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Spearhead forecasting efforts by crafting and implementing sophisticated time series models to anticipate sales and behavioral patterns for a vast customer base.
• Create scalable machine learning solutions that facilitate real-time decision-making in areas such as risk management, fraud detection, and product personalization.
• Work collaboratively across various functions with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to convert complex data challenges into actionable insights and quantifiable business results.
• Foster innovation in fintech applications by exploring advanced methodologies (e.g., deep learning architectures, probabilistic forecasting, and transformer-based models).
• Maintain compliance and transparency in model development, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and ethical standards regarding financial data usage.
• Influence the data science strategy by pinpointing opportunities where predictive modeling can create new value streams and competitive advantages.
• You possess a minimum of 5 years of experience with machine learning and deep learning in a practical environment.
• You have a solid understanding of fintech products and risk management, enabling effective interpretation of business data.
• You hold a strong foundation in probability, statistics, and econometrics.
• You demonstrate expertise in time series forecasting methods grounded in statistical analysis (ARIMA, SARIMA, SARIMAX, VAR, exponential smoothing, or state-space models), machine and deep learning (Random Forest, XGBoost, RNNs, LSTMs, or Transformers), or Bayesian theory (BSTS, Prophet, or ensemble forecasting), among others.
• You possess in-depth knowledge of machine learning techniques for sequential data (RNNs, LSTMs, GRUs, Transformers).
• You are highly proficient in ML/DL frameworks in Python (e.g., Tensorflow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
• You are adept at consuming data through APIs, SFTP, or direct CSV files.
• You have a passion for scalable machine and deep learning solutions governed by algorithms and methods with low time and space complexity.
• You have experience with explainable AI, particularly in the context of deep learning forecasting time series methods.
• You maintain a data-oriented mindset, focused on making informed decisions based on data.
• You have experience managing stakeholders, ensuring they are informed of key findings and articulating results, methodologies, and processes for data-driven decision-making in a non-technical manner.
