Senior Data Scientist Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Conduct statistical and mathematical analyses to aid in informed business decision-making.

• Assist in the deployment of artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) within a production environment.

• Collaborate with Associate Data Scientists and Data Scientists to explore data sources, perform data cleansing, execute feature engineering, and develop baseline models.

• Independently oversee multiple projects related to data science model development.

• Engage with various cross-functional stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration between data science and business teams.

• Provide mentorship to Associate Data Scientists and Data Scientists.

• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation regarding ML models, data sources, and methodologies.

• Actively partake in core team processes, including research and development, while recommending and implementing process enhancements or new methodologies.

• Share insights and knowledge with team members and other teams through presentations at regular internal sessions and workshops.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in data science, mathematics, computer science, statistics, or a related field with 3+ years of experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience in data science.

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Expert-level proficiency in Classification, Regression, Clustering, Dimensionality Reduction, Association Rule Learning, Bagging, Boosting, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Model Evaluation and Metrics, Cross-validation, Hyperparameter Tuning, Optimization Algorithms, NLP, and more.

• Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM methodologies, with 1-2 years of practical experience.

• At least 1+ years of experience working with a major cloud platform, developing ML models from data exploration to deployment.

• Demonstrated ability to independently navigate a data lake environment while creating training datasets or feature stores.

• Capacity to investigate and research ML frameworks, algorithms, datasets, and feature stores, contributing to the resolution of data science challenges.
