This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.
β’ Create and sustain the analytical framework utilized for modeling energy expenses across Electrify America's network of over 1,000 charging stations spread across more than 250 utility territories.
β’ Investigate, interpret, and manage utility tariff information, converting intricate rate structures into scalable analytical frameworks and operational systems.
β’ Develop and refine models that assess energy costs at a detailed session level, encompassing demand charges, energy charges, and other tariff-related cost drivers.
β’ Formulate methodologies and models that account for dynamics in the wholesale energy market, including hourly pricing, critical event pricing, and nodal market indicators.
β’ Design predictive models that forecast marginal utility costs and collaborate with energy services and engineering teams to implement these insights into real-time operational applications.
β’ Collaborate with pricing, energy services, and network P&L management teams to generate regular reports and ad hoc analyses regarding network economics and profitability.
β’ Measure and monitor financial savings achieved through tariff optimization, participation in energy markets, and various cost management initiatives across Electrify America, Electrify Canada, and commercial charging clients.
β’ Over 7 years of experience in data science, quantitative analytics, energy economics, utility analytics, or similar fields.
β’ Extensive understanding of commercial and industrial utility rate structures, encompassing demand charges, time-of-use rates, and rate optimization.
β’ Experience in analyzing wholesale electricity markets and hourly energy price fluctuations.
β’ Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities with a proven track record of converting complex datasets into actionable insights.
β’ Advanced skills in Python, SQL, and Excel.
β’ Experience in creating scalable and repeatable analytical models and workflows.
β’ Solid grasp of statistical analysis, forecasting, and econometric methods.
β’ Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects and drive execution in uncertain environments.
β’ Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication abilities.
