Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Enhance the growth trajectory: Examine our acquisition funnel — from ad expenditure through quizzes, signups, and activations — to identify user leakage points and discover where minor adjustments can lead to significant improvements. Assist us in efficiently reaching millions.

• Conduct high-caliber experiments: Design and evaluate experiments across product and growth domains. Introduce statistical rigor — (sequential testing, CUPED, uplift) to accelerate learning without compromising quality.

• Shape strategy with metrics: Develop and refine metrics related to acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and monetization. Highlight risks and leverage points that influence our priorities.

• Anticipate & Influence User Behavior: Utilize causal and inferential techniques (e.g., uplift modeling, regression, survival analysis) to move from understanding "what happened" to "why it happened." Create lightweight ML models and segmentations that pinpoint the specific factors driving long-term retention, conversion, and LTV.

• Collaborate with Leadership: Serve as a trusted analytics partner within the growth domain. You will articulate complex insights to senior stakeholders (including C-suite executives), delivering the data-driven assurance necessary to shape the company’s strategy.

• Strengthen our foundations: Collaborate with dbt and our instrumentation layers to guarantee the data we depend on is of high quality. You will assist in designing data systems that accommodate multiple use cases across the team.

• Implement a "So What?" Filter: We prioritize clarity over complexity. You will be empowered to select the simplest effective solutions and adapt swiftly when a hypothesis is invalidated.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in product analytics, growth analytics, or data science, where you have managed analytics domains and influenced product direction.

• Strong quantitative background — whether through a degree (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Economics, or similar) or a history of tackling genuinely complex quantitative challenges.

• Extensive proficiency in SQL and Python, along with practical experience in statistical modeling (e.g., regression, classification, or time-to-event analysis).

• Proven experience in executing rigorous experiments and a clear understanding of what constitutes quality.

• Familiarity with LTV, churn, retention, or conversion modeling — and the ability to translate predictions into specific product or marketing actions.

• The capability to convert intricate technical findings into clear, actionable narratives for stakeholders. You feel comfortable voicing your opinions, even when they may challenge the existing norms.

• You flourish in dynamic settings and are at ease making recommendations based on imperfect signals.

• Excel in fast-paced, low-process environments; align with our #ActFast value and are comfortable making decisions on approximately 70% of the evidence.
