This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Utilize data analysis, visualization, and modeling tools (such as Looker, Jupyter Notebooks, Python, and Pandas) to inform data-driven business strategies, particularly focusing on cost prediction for a two-sided marketplace.
• Create and implement data science projects, which encompass hypothesis development, statistical analysis, and experimentation (including A/B testing) to address essential business inquiries and validate assumptions.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into data science solutions, ensuring alignment with Xometry’s goals.
• Evaluate existing algorithms for their accuracy and performance, offering suggestions for optimization and updating production code as required.
• Extract and query data from databases (like Snowflake and MongoDB) to facilitate analysis and model creation.
• Apply robust data science methodologies, prioritizing best practices in code reproducibility, version control, and model deployment.
• Persistently refine and enhance solutions in a dynamic, agile environment, tackling challenges with innovative, data-driven strategies.
• Promote a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and continuous learning, fostering knowledge sharing and skill enhancement within the team.
• A bachelor’s degree is essential; an advanced degree (M.S. or PhD) in applied mathematics, computer science, data science, engineering, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
• Over 5 years of experience in the field of data science.
• Proficient in SQL and Python (preferably with experience in numpy, scipy, pandas, and scikit-learn) and familiar with API integrations using Python.
• Strong knowledge of applied statistics, including familiarity with probability distributions, confidence intervals, statistical tests (such as t-tests, ANOVA, Chi-Square), and power analysis.
• Experience in pricing algorithms and technology-driven product development.
• Understanding of scientific software principles, including version control, code reproducibility, and deployment practices.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and effectively manage shifting priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with global teams and convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
