Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Utilize data analysis, visualization, and modeling tools (such as Looker, Jupyter Notebooks, Python, and Pandas) to inform data-driven business strategies, concentrating on cost prediction for a two-sided marketplace.

• Develop and implement data science projects, which include hypothesis formation, statistical analysis, and experimentation (e.g., A/B testing) to tackle significant business inquiries and verify assumptions.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into data science solutions and ensure alignment with Xometry’s goals.

• Evaluate existing algorithms for precision and performance, making optimization recommendations, and updating production code as needed.

• Extract and query data from databases (like Snowflake and MongoDB) to assist in analysis and model creation.

• Apply robust data science methodologies, focusing on best practices in code reproducibility, version control, and model deployment.

• Continuously refine and enhance solutions in a dynamic, agile environment, tackling challenges with innovative, data-driven methods.

• Promote a culture of collaboration, teamwork, and ongoing learning, encouraging knowledge transfer and skill enhancement within the team.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree is mandatory; a master's degree (M.S. or PhD) in applied mathematics, computer science, data science, engineering, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.

• Over 5 years of experience in the field of data science.

• Proficient in SQL and Python (with experience in numpy, scipy, pandas, and scikit-learn preferred) and skilled in API integrations using Python.

• Solid understanding of applied statistics, including knowledge of probability distributions, confidence intervals, statistical tests (such as t-tests, ANOVA, Chi-Square), and power analysis.

• Experience with pricing algorithms and technology-based product development.

• Familiarity with scientific software principles, including version control, code reproducibility, and deployment practices.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, uncertain environment and effectively manage changing priorities.

• Must be able to work core hours aligned with US Eastern Time (GMT-5).

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with global teams and convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
