This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +9 more states.
• Act as an embedded data lead.
• Gain an in-depth understanding of the product, including its strategy, objectives, roadmap, and user base, to identify significant strategic opportunities and risks.
• Utilize data to guide discussions: present data-driven hypotheses, question assumptions, frame trade-offs, and prioritize strategically.
• Convert ambiguous product ideas into precise analytical questions and design the appropriate methodologies to address them.
• Serve as the definitive source for KPIs and product metrics: assist in defining and monitoring them, while identifying trends and drivers.
• Influence decision-making with data: prioritize analyses that significantly impact product decisions and outcomes, reframe analysis requests that lack value into those that do, and execute the resulting analyses effectively and promptly.
• Lead experimentation with care: advise the team on when to experiment and when not to, facilitate self-service experimentation, and emphasize frequent, small experiments to accelerate learning.
• Recognize opportunities where product strategy and concepts could be improved, simplified, or expedited through AI integration (ML or GenAI), and assist in this integration process.
• Present yourself as a collaborative leader rather than merely a service provider, focusing work on the most critical tasks.
• Manage the complete process of transforming clinical, member, and claims data from our data warehouse into actionable insights: collaborate with stakeholders to design reports and dashboards that address real business questions, construct the data flows to support these initiatives, and develop the necessary data transformation pipelines.
• Experience in a digital health or similar startup environment, ideally during a growth phase, to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
• Over 7 years of experience in a Healthcare Analytics or Data Science role, working with extensive datasets and performing statistical and quantitative modeling, combining analytics with strong programming, data mining, clustering, and segmentation skills.
• More than 7 years of experience with data science and visualization tools (SQL, Python).
• Proven experience in creating BI dashboards using tools like Looker or Tableau.
• Familiarity with implementing best practices in data security and privacy required in a highly regulated industry.
• Capability to articulate technology, techniques, and methodologies to others.
• Nice-to-Haves:
• Experience leading cross-functional projects to create scalable systems and data pipelines, managing complex data structures.
• Knowledge of Generative AI concepts and experience with GenAI tools (ChatGPT/Codex, Claude/Claude Code, Gemini, etc.).
• Experience in building pipelines using dbt.
