Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute training pipelines, including data curation, model selection, hyperparameter optimization, and ablation studies, while ensuring the quality of models in live environments.

• Create and sustain production inference services that accommodate latency budgets, batching strategies, quantization, and monitoring for WPP's global clientele.

• Design agentic AI systems by outlining tool schemas, orchestration logic, evaluation criteria, and potential failure modes for multi-step LLM workflows.

• Collaborate across the technology stack when necessary—construct the data pipeline, train the model, implement the evaluation harness, deploy the service, and troubleshoot issues when performance metrics deviate.

• Establish the technical direction for your workstream by drafting design documents, making build-versus-buy decisions, and supporting your approach with solid evidence.

• Guide and set quality benchmarks for junior scientists.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in deploying ML models to production.

• Profound and demonstrable expertise in at least one of the following: NLP/LLMs, computer vision, recommender systems, or causal inference.

• Practical experience with LLM fine-tuning techniques (LoRA, RLHF, DPO) or developing LLM-powered systems (agents, RAG, structured generation).

• Strong software engineering practices including version control, testing, code review, and CI/CD methodologies.

• Ability to navigate through uncertainty comfortably.

• Excellent communication skills—capable of producing a concise design document that is beneficial for both product managers and engineering staff.
