This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop, deploy, and manage production systems that drive Northbeam's measurement offerings.
• Convert statistical and causal inference methodologies into scalable and dependable customer-facing solutions.
• Enhance the accuracy, coverage, reliability, and operational strength of our measurement systems.
• Diagnose data, modeling, and production challenges across the complete stack, from source data to customer-facing results.
• Assess methodological enhancements pragmatically, weighing statistical integrity, implementation complexity, maintainability, and business impact.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in Data Science, Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to elevate measurement quality and product capabilities.
• Clarify statistical concepts for customers, resolve measurement challenges, and collect feedback to refine Northbeam's offerings.
• Bachelor’s degree (MS or PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related highly quantitative discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in building and deploying data science, machine learning, or AI systems in production settings.
• Solid foundation in statistics, machine learning, experimentation, and causal inference, along with practical experience applying these techniques to address real-world business challenges.
• Proficient coding and debugging abilities, capable of producing maintainable, testable, and dependable production-quality code.
• Experience in implementing, deploying, and supporting statistical or machine learning systems in live environments.
• Skilled at troubleshooting issues across the entire stack, including source data, data pipelines, model logic, production services, and customer-facing outputs.
• Proven track record of managing projects from start to finish, from problem definition and methodology assessment to production deployment and operational support.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced startup environment and capable of driving projects from concept to production with significant autonomy.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Possess a growth mindset, intellectual curiosity, and eagerness to learn new domains, technologies, and measurement methodologies.
