Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Utilize appropriate analytical techniques—statistical analysis, regression, clustering, forecasting, and classification—to address real-world business challenges on a large scale.

• Create and implement comprehensive analytical solutions, from data extraction in BigQuery and MariaDB to generating actionable insights and automated reporting.

• Develop and sustain data pipelines, analytical frameworks, and tools using Python and SQL.

• Employ AI-driven development tools (Windsurf, Gemini, Claude, Cursor) to enhance experimentation, code generation, and analytical processes.

• Utilize cutting-edge AI features and tools (LLMs, embeddings, generative AI) to enhance and automate analytical workflows.

• Create lightweight applications and APIs (FastAPI) to deliver models and insights to stakeholders.

• Take ownership of data architecture decisions in your area, including schema design, data modeling, and pipeline reliability.

• Clearly communicate results, trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Analyze and refine business processes through data-driven insights and process design.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in data science, advanced analytics, or a related quantitative field.

• Expert-level proficiency in SQL with deep knowledge of BigQuery and MariaDB or comparable data platforms; proficient in query optimization, partitioning, and data modeling.

• Strong skills in Python and/or JavaScript, capable of producing production-quality code, not just notebooks; familiar with modern data and machine learning libraries.

• In-depth understanding of analytical techniques including regression, clustering, time series analysis, A/B testing, and classification; knowledgeable about when and why to apply each method.

• Solid grasp of data architecture, including the design of data warehouses, lakes, and pipelines; capable of structuring data for both analytical and machine learning workloads.

• Proficient with AI-assisted development tools such as Windsurf, Gemini, Claude, Cursor, or similar; incorporates AI assistants as an integral part of your workflow.

• Excellent communication abilities; able to present complex technical information in a manner that influences decision-making.

• Self-managing and capable of working independently; you prioritize your tasks, resolve obstacles, and deliver results without needing guidance.

• Inherently curious and ambitious; you are committed to continuous learning, building, and improvement.
