Senior Data Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Utilize appropriate analytical techniques—such as statistical analysis, regression, clustering, forecasting, and classification—to tackle significant business challenges on a large scale.

• Create and implement comprehensive analytical solutions, from data extraction in BigQuery and MariaDB to delivering actionable insights and automated reporting.

• Develop and sustain data pipelines, analytical frameworks, and tools using Python and SQL.

• Employ AI-enhanced development tools (Windsurf, Gemini, Claude, Cursor) to expedite experimentation, code creation, and analysis.

• Utilize the latest AI functionalities and tools (LLMs, embeddings, generative AI) to enhance and automate analytical processes.

• Construct lightweight applications and APIs (FastAPI) to empower stakeholders with models and insights.

• Take ownership of data architecture decisions in your domain, including schema design, data modeling, and ensuring pipeline reliability.

• Clearly communicate findings, trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and business audiences.

• Analyze and enhance business processes through data-driven insights and process design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional expertise in data science, advanced analytics, or a quantitative discipline.

• Proficient in SQL at an expert level, with extensive knowledge of BigQuery, MariaDB, or comparable data platforms; adept in query optimization, partitioning, and data modeling.

• Strong skills in Python and/or JavaScript; capable of producing production-quality code, not merely in notebooks; familiar with modern data and ML libraries.

• In-depth understanding of analytical methodologies including regression, clustering, time series, A/B testing, and classification; knowledgeable about when and why to apply these techniques.

• Solid grasp of data architecture, including the design of warehouses, lakes, and pipelines; skilled in structuring data for analytical and ML applications.

• Proficient with AI-driven development tools such as Windsurf, Gemini, Claude, Cursor, or similar; effectively incorporate AI assistants into your workflow.

• Exceptional communication abilities; convey complex technical work in a manner that influences decision-making.

• Self-motivated and autonomous; capable of prioritizing tasks, resolving obstacles independently, and delivering results without needing constant guidance.

• Inquisitive and driven; continually learning, building, and improving.

• A public GitHub profile that highlights your projects, experiments, or contributions.

• Nice to Have: Familiarity with Next.js or modern frontend frameworks for developing data-centric applications.

• Experience with FastAPI for model serving or internal tools.

• Background in business process analysis or operational process design.

• Experience collaborating across various business departments (Finance, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Engineering) is highly advantageous.

• Knowledge of JSON-based data formats, APIs, and integration patterns.

• Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes; experience with containerization and cluster orchestration is a significant plus.
